How to hire wedding cars

By Dinner suit team

One of the grooms duties is to organise transportation for the guests and family for the big day. Use the following guide to ensure you know what your transport responsibilities are and how to pick a suitable vehicle.

The route

There tend to be four main routes for the groom to consider when hiring cars for weddings.

1. Getting the bridal party to the ceremony.

Arguably the most important journey. Bride’s tend to prepare themselves at their parents’ home (or hotel) on the morning of the wedding day. She will travels to the ceremony in the same car as her father so make sure the driver knows where to go and when to get there. You should aim to hire an executive car for this route.

2. Getting the groom and best man to the wedding.

You’ll be too nervous to think about much so get yourself a standard car. Also it’s known for best men to drive the groom to the venue. Make sure you aim to be there at least 30 minutes before the ceremony.

3. Getting the groom and the bride from the wedding to the reception.

Of course if the reception is being held in the same venue as the wedding location then ignore this. If however there is another drive then aim to hire an executive or vintage car, something special and memorable.

4. Getting the groom and bride from the reception to the marriage bed.

One thing’s for sure after the consumption of a lot of champagne most people won’t be driving so you’ll probably end the evening with an executive minicab. Just make sure you’re not too cheeky to the driver.

Which car to choose for your wedding

In general hiring a classic car can be very costly but also one of the most stunning and stylish forms of transport. If you go down this route then check out a  Beauford or Aston Martin. Luxurious contemporary motors such as the Rolls Royce or Bentley Arnage will get you to the wedding in style and extreme comfort. If you want to leave with a roar then a sports car would be the ultimate wedding car and a Ferrari or Lamborghini will do the trick.

There are 100’s of regional and national companies throughout the UK that specialise in car rental for weddings. Some  luxury car companies include a knowledgeable chauffeur who will be on hand to assist you during your trip. Some companies even throw in a glass of champagne to start the occasion.
