Cravats are a common neck accessory that can be found at many formal occasions especially weddings. Originally the cravat was used as a ‘napkin’ and there to hide shirts that may have become a little soiled however it is now a piece of neckwear worn in a slipknot with long ends overlapping each other.
You can buy cravats that are both pre-tied and those that can be hand tied. The Dinner suit team tend to prefer the self tie cravats however if you find knots tricky then by all means go for the ready made cravat. To help you learn to tie a cravat we recommend you check out our cravat tying guide.
